NPO Saturn continues renovating its cafeterias
October 28, 2013, Rybinsk. - Today, on 28 October 2013 one of the company’s most frequently visited cafeterias has opened its doors to everyone after its restoration.
In the course of massive renovation of the cafeteria No. 12 located at the workshop 102, the overall dinning hall area has been expanded which allowed to increase the number of seats. At present the cafeteria No. 12 can accommodate up to 1500 of the company’s employees for lunch during the day and evening shifts, a total of 216 at one sitting.
The cafeteria has undergone comprehensive refurbishment of all its production and sanitary-recreational offices. New, modern food-preparing equipment has been installed including two vapor convection heaters, a rotary furnace, proofing cabinets, robotized vegetable slicers and a mincing machine as well as new electrical kitchenware; the food kettles and refrigerating chambers have been replaced with new ones; a new warehouse for dry products and a modern dishwasher with drying function have been installed. A comfortable wardrobe and shower rooms have been engineered for the cafeteria’s staff.
NPO Saturn – participant of EU’s seventh framework program
October 28, 2013, Rybinsk. - In September, 2013 a European research project dubbed UMRIDA (Uncertainty Management for Robust Industrial Design in Aeronautics) got underway in Brussels, Belgium as part of the European Union’s seventh framework program. NPO Saturn is an equal-right participant of this project.
NPO Saturn celebrates its 97th birthday
October 24, 2013, Rybinsk. - NPO Saturn is celebrating its 97th birthday from the moment of its founding in Rybinsk in 1916 as The Russian Renault Company.
At present NPO Saturn successfully operates in the filed of designing civil aircraft engines, it takes active part in the development of the frontline aviation engines as well as power generation machinery and gas-pumping installations. The company designs and develops the products meeting in full all the expectations of its customers, such as: the government, airlines and power generation and industrial companies. The competences of Saturn span the entire gas turbine machinery development cycle comprising the design, manufacturing, marketing and sales and after-market support.
The projects comprising the program of development of the “Gas turbine machinery and power engineering” cluster were approved during the session of the Coordination council headed by the Governor of the Yaroslavl region
October 11, 2013, Rybinsk. - During the meeting of the Coordination council headed by the Governor of the Yaroslavl region, the projects and initiatives comprising the program of development of the “Gas turbine machinery and power engineering” innovative territorial cluster were approved conjointly with a review of the items concerning the development of the cluster’s territorial infrastructure and the strategic opportunities for the Rybinsk-based “Gas turbine machinery and power engineering” cluster facilitated by NPO Saturn in charge of coordinating the cluster’s activities.
NPO Saturn employees made it to the winners list of the “Best Engineer of 2013” regional contest
October 11, 2013, Rybinsk. - As part of celebrating The Day of the Industry of Yaroslavl Region on 10 October in Yaroslavl, the annual regional conference of engineers played host to bestowing the awards upon the winners of the “Best Engineer of 2013” competition.
The diplomas of the best engineers of Yaroslavl region in the year 2013 and money grants allocated by the department of industry of Yaroslavl region were awarded to two NPO Saturn employees who had represented well their company during the competition.
NPO Saturn and CIAM signed a collaboration agreement
October 10, 2013, Rybinsk. - Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn chief executive officer, head of the UEC’s Civil Engines Division, chairman of the Yaroslavl regional branch of the “Russian union of mechanic engineers” paid a return visit to P.I. Baranov CIAM (Central Institute of Aircraft Engine Building). The parties discussed the performance of the division and CIAM in 2013, touched on the prospects of future cooperation and signed a Collaboration Agreement.
During the meeting, Vladimir Babkin, general director of P.I. Baranov CIAM presented the program of development and creation of a research and technology backlog coupled with a presentation on the research and experimental capabilities of the institute. The report on the development of CIAM’s scientific field was presented by Mr. Skibin, head of CIAM science-related projects.
General manager of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kirienko visited NPO Saturn
October 8, 2013, Rybinsk. - Today a delegation from Rosatom State Corporation headed by Sergey Kirienko, its CEO visited NPO Saturn.
During the visit the delegation met with Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn chief executive officer, chairman of the Yaroslavl regional branch of the Russian union of mechanical engineers.
The representatives of Rosatom attended a joint meeting and were demonstrated the NPO Saturn research and development bureau which is actively using the modern methods of computational and experimental studies.
NPO Saturn is actively developing a customer support system for its industrial gas turbine engines
October 7, 2013, Rybinsk. Being a designer and manufacturer of gas turbine machinery, NPO Saturn offers to its customers a wide range of industrial gas turbine engines of low, medium and high power for use at the combined heat and power stations, in the utilities power grids, at the industrial sites as well as at the oil and gas production fields. Among the recent power plants put into operation are the nine GTE-6.3/8RM engines installed at the Gazprom Nadym Production sites, at the Medvezhye field, at the Gazprom transgas Yugors and at the Yamburgskaya compressor station.
The board of the Civil Engines Division reviewed the production ramp-up plans
October 4, 2013, Rybinsk. – The issues related to the sustainability of the United Engine Corporation’s Civil Engines Division (CED) and building of a balanced product portfolio of civil and transport aviation engines were treated during a regular meeting of the CED board of directors.
