April, 29th 2013, Rybinsk. – The new innovative development of NPO Saturn – the E70/8RD – an industrial dual-fuel GTE designed for marine application was presented at the end of April in Rybinsk during the MC UEC’s scientific-technical board session focused on reliability, state of service and prospects of utilizing gas-turbine engines in the power range of 2.5 - 10 MW.
NPO Saturn delegates took part in the inter-university students’ “The youth in science” scientific-technical conference
April, 26th 2013, Rybinsk. – A number of NPO Saturn delegates took part in the inter-university students' scientific-technical conference entitled “The youth in science” which was held on 25-26 April at the NPO Saturn’s main higher-learning institution – P.A Solovyev Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University (RGATU). The conference curriculum was divided into 14 sections each dedicated to a specific field of knowledge ranging from jet engines to “a foreign language as a tool for successful professional communication”. The goal of the conference was to enhance the science and engineering-related activity of the undergraduate and postgraduate students, improving the quality level of the professional training of the future experts; developing the creative edge of the talented youth; ensuring the conditions for growing young highly-qualified scientists, engineers and future instructors.
Valery Poletayev, president of RGATU, honorable machine builder of the Russian Federation, doctor of technical sciences and professor inaugurated the conference. He emphasized its importance for both the university and the company, wished success to all the participants regarding the further development and materialization of the proposals made in their conference presentations.
NPO Saturn celebrates the International Day of Intellectual Property having secured 700 objects of intellectual property and the value of non-material assets worth around 2 billion rubles
April, 26th 2013, Rybinsk. – On 26 April the world celebrates the International Day of Intellectual Property, a holiday established by the General Assembly of the World intellectual property organization in September 2000 as homage to the innovators and authors whose creativity and inventive spirit are used for the benefit of the human race.
In 2013 NPO Saturn welcomes the International Day of Intellectual Property while possessing 700 objects of intellectual property and having the value of intangible assets worth around 2 billion rubles.
NPO Saturn took part in the scientific-technical board organized in the frame of the division “Energy and industrial programs” of the United Engine Corporation conjointly with Gazprom OJSC
April, 25th 2013, Rybinsk. Today is the end of the scientific-technical board dedicated to the questions of reliability, state of service and prospects of utilization of gas-turbine engines (GTE) in the power range of 2.5 to 10 MW which was held at the Rybinsk-based NPO Saturn and Saturn-Gas Turbines on 24-25 April 2013 under the auspices of the UEC with the participation of Perm motor plat and Aviadvigatel, Gazprom and gas-transportation companies.
For the first time over last several years, the scientific-technical board (STB) united in Rybinsk under the leadership of the United Engine Corporation the manufactures and operators of industrial gas-turbine engines, power plants and gas-pumping equipment. The STB was focused on treating the current issues as well as the questions of production and operation of industrial gas-turbine machinery.

During its two years in service, the SaM146 engine has demonstrated a high level of reliability
April, 23rd 2013, Rybinsk. – The SaÌ146 engine was originally installed “on wing” on April, 21st 2011. It is exactly on that date that the first commercial flight of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft from Moscow to Yerevan was performed. During the two years in revenue service, the SaM146 engine demonstrated good reliability of its design. A high level of confidence has been demonstrated by foreign customers who are placing orders for the Russian-made product: since the beginning of 2013 the deliveries to the customers outside the CIS area have begun.
NPO Saturn chief executive officer Ilya Fedorov entered the TOP 10 list of the “Russian industrial elite” rating
April, 18th 2013, Rybinsk. – NPO Saturn chief executive officer Ilya Fedorov entered the TOP 10 list of the “Russian industrial elite” rating.
The “Russian industrial elite – 100 best industrial managers” rating is carried out by the “Production management” business portal. The main objective of the rating is to identify the most successful managers who have contributed considerably to the development of the companies they head as well as to the development of the industry and to the country’s economy.
NPO Saturn shipped the 60th serial SaM146 engine to its customer
April, 18 2013, Rybinsk. – Today NPO Saturn shipped the 60th engine to the customer since the beginning of serial production of the SaM146 engines that power Sukhoi Superjet 100. Whereas the previous year saw only 30 engines assembled and delivered to the customer in the frame of the Russian-French SaM146 engine partnership, the current year pursues the goal of producing and delivering to the customer of already 52 SaM146 engines. The production volume is revised on a monthly basis based on the real needs coming from the customer – ZAO Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC).
For the first time NPO Saturn held a grand prix competition in the field of program -project management
April, 10 2013, Rybinsk. During an extended operative NPO Saturn meeting in Rybinsk the winners of the program-project management competition were celebrated. The projects utilizing the principles of the program-project management were underway in a number of NPO Saturn departments throughout 2012.
During the diploma award ceremony, the chief executive officer of the company Ilya Fedorov underscored the significance of the projects submitted to the competition for the future development of the company: “I pay a lot of attention to this activity. Following the competition results, we have identified some projects that can be vital for the company not only today but also in the future, in about 5-6 years from now. The methods of program-project management used in project implementation are currently actively introduced in our company and are aimed at obtaining the maximal performance”.
