NPO SATURN chief information officer presented the techniques of strategic management regarding corporate IT-systems used in the company at the European summit of IT-directors
More than 100 IT-managers from European commercial enterprises and government organizations gathered this spring in Vienna to discuss the most topical issues related to the development of information technologies and management at the summit hosted by IDC, a leading supplier of IT and consulting services. Yuriy Zelenkov, NPO Saturn CIO took part in the panel discussion on the role of IT in ensuring adaptability and flexibility of business. His address was dedicated to the restructuring of his own IT-direction in accordance with the new requirements which are imposed by the constantly changing business-administration conditions.
NPO Saturn hosted a workmanship competition between NC-machine operators
May 20, 2013, Rybinsk. - Conducting workmanship competitions between shop-floor workers, line production managers – foremen and production engineers has become a good tradition at NPO Saturn.
On May 17 on the premises of the NPO Saturn training center the final of the workmanship competition between the operators of numerically-controlled turning and milling machines took place.
Ten operators from the different production shops of the company were competing in their knowledge of theory and skill of operating turning and milling machines having already won the intra-shop contest in their respective production shops.
The governor of Yaroslavl region Sergey Yastrebov presented NPO Saturn employees with the Russian Federation awards
May 17, 2013. Rybinsk. – The decree signed by the president of the Russian Federation commemorated the contribution of the NPO Saturn employees.
The medal of the order “Contribution to the State” of II degree was awarded to, as follows:
- for the excellent performance and many years of diligent work – NPO Saturn deputy chief engineer for repair operations Alexander Ivanovich Kel;
- for the significant contribution to the fortification of the country’s defense potential, design and development of new special-purpose applications and many years of diligent work – NPO Saturn first deputy chief engineer Nikolay Leonidovich Komshin.
The distinguished title “Honorable machine builder of the Russian Federation” was awarded to, as follows:
- for the significant contribution to the fortification of the country’s defense potential, design and development of new special-purpose applications and many years of diligent work – NPO Saturn NC-machines and manipulators set-up category 5 engineer, Alexey Aleksandrovich Bespalov;
- for the excellent performance in the filed of machine building and many years of diligent work – NPO Saturn first deputy general designer - chief designer of the A. Lyulka R&D center Vladimir Valentinovich Kiryukhin.
Operating mode of the Ivanovo-based combined-cycle plant underwent some modifications in order to optimize performance of the GTE-110 ¹ 4 and ¹ 7 supplied by NPO Saturn
May 13, 2013, Rybinsk. – In the frame of a state contract signed between NPO Saturn and the Ministry of industry and commerce of the Russian Federation aimed at designing and mastering the baseline technologies for high-power gas-turbine power plants some actions are currently under development to create an advanced high-power gas-turbine power plant capitalizing on the experience accumulated in revenue service of the GTE-110 including the optimization of the operating mode and life extension of the engines. The prominent research institutes and the test base of Saturn are involved in the development program; the required calculations and experimental surveys have already been conducted, positive expert evaluation has been received.
NPO Saturn completed the eighth wave of Lean-transformations
May, 7th 2013. Rybinsk. – NPO Saturn has summed up the results of the eighth wave of Lean-transformations during which 7 Lean-projects were implemented in several departments of the company.
The first three projects were conducted within the “Compressor blades” competence center. They were aimed at increasing the efficiency of the end-to-end compressor blades production process, boosting the throughput of the compressor blades grinding sector and optimization of receiving the rough parts. The fourth project was focused on increasing the effectiveness of equipment maintenance by introducing the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tool. The fifth project was carried out in the Purchasing and Logistics Direction with the goal of reducing the inventory request paperwork processing lead times. The implementation of the sixth project took place in the Technical Direction of NPO Saturn with the aim of improving the existing design documents coordination workflow. The main objective of the seventh project was to increase the efficiency of producing isothermal dies and stressed structure dies by SatIZ (a tooling-manufacturing subsidiary of NPO Saturn).
NPO Saturn successfully completed the first EASA supervisory audit of the SaM146 engines production organization
May, 6th 2013, Rybinsk. – From 22 to 25 April 2013 NPO Saturn underwent its first EASA supervisory audit during which the auditors from the European Agency verified the observance by NPO Saturn of the EASA Part 21 requirements. The audit results confirmed compliance of the SaM146 engine production organization with the requirements of the European regulations. No deviations preventing the prolongation of the POA certificate were identified during the audit.
