NPO Saturn united the youth of United Engine Corporation’s Civil Engines Division in the frame of the XXVII Youth gathering dedicated to the Winter Olympic Games
February 24, 2014, Rybinsk. - In the period of February 21-23, on the premises of the Black River sanatorium the main youth-related corporate event - the 27th NPO Saturn youth gathering dedicated to the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, took place. 19 teams were competing in sport, intellect and creativity competitions, including the guests from Perm (the teams representing Perm Motor Plant and Aviadvigatel), Moscow and Komsomolsk-upon-Amur.
NPO Saturn shipped off its 100th SaM146 engine to Komsomolsk-upon-Amur
February 20, 2014, Rybinsk. - Today, the NPO Saturn assembly shop shipped its 100th SaM146 engine powering SSJ100 ordered by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) since the beginning of its serial production to the Komsomolsk-upon-Amur-based KnAAPO. To date 64 power plants have been delivered to foreign and domestic customers operating the aircraft powered by the SaM146 engines.
The SaM146 engine program serving the needs of the SSJ100 regional/medium-range aircraft is proceeding at the set pace. The SaM146 engine (1S17 version) was certified by EASA (European Air Safety Agency) and IAC AR (Interstate Aviation Committee AviaRegister) in summer 2010, and has been in revenue service powering the SSJ100 aircraft for almost 3 years now.
A working meeting took place between the Yaroslavl region governor Sergey Yastrebov and NPO Saturn chief executive officer Ilya Fedorov
February 18, 2014, Rybinsk. - A traditional working meeting between Sergey Yastrebov, the governor of the Yaroslavl region and Ilya Fedorov, chief executive officer of NPO Saturn took place at the Yaroslavl regional administration.
In the course of the meeting, the parties reviewed the results of NPO Saturn’s operations in 2013 and the company’s plans for 2014. The head of the region was content with the results demonstrated by the company in 2013. Compared to 2012, the production and sales volumes grew by 28% and 35% respectively. The company’s revenue following the results of 2013 exceeded RUR 17.5 bln. The per-employee-output increased by 43% compared to 2012 having reached RUR 1.5 mln.
SENIOR MANAGEMENT OF THE CIVIL ENGINES DIVISION REVIEWED THE PRINCIPLES OF CREATING A PRODUCTION SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ITS COMPANIES
February 10, 2014, Rybinsk. - The principles of setting up a production system to manage the companies within the Civil Engines Division (CED) were reviewed during a planned meeting of its senior management taking place in Moscow under the chairmanship of UEC deputy chief executive officer, NPO Saturn chief executive officer, CED chairman Ilya Fedorov with the participation of PMZ chief executive officer, CED deputy chairman Sergey Popov, UEC deputy chief executive officer Sergey Pavlinich, UEC director of program-project management - head of UEC program-project management department Alexander Neznamov and other members of the board.
Following the meeting results, the parties agreed to adopt as the baseline the proposed model of a production system enabling to manage the division’s companies. In order to be well prepared for the deployment of the planned project and obtain fundamental knowledge of the methodology, a series of lectures on “Introduction to supply chain management” will take place at PMZ. Using its own experience, NPO Saturn will introduce the division’s employees to conducting a preparation of an industrial-commercial plan (also known as PIC).

February 6, 2014, Rybinsk. - A working group has been established with the aim of developing a combined cycle electric power generating plant having an efficiency of 50-52% based off a 110-MW gas turbine engine manufactured by NPO Saturn. The working group has included representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, United Engine Corporation (UEC), NPO Saturn, Inter RAO, ROSNANO and TsNIITMASH.
