NPO Saturn engine repair division was awarded an EASA maintenance organization approval certificate allowing it to perform MRO operations on the SaM146 engines
April 17, 2014, Rybinsk. - The NPO Saturn repair shop No. 85 hosted a celebration which had brought together over fifty representatives of Saturn and Snecma having gathered to congratulate each other and the entire Russian-French team working on the SaM146 engine project with yet another significant achievement - completion of the NPO Saturn MRO operations certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
At the International engine-building salon 2014 NPO Saturn and the Thermal physics institute of the Siberian division of the Russian academy of sciences signed a collaboration agreement
April 16, 2014, Rybinsk. - NPO Saturn took part in the International engine-building salon 2014 which opened on 15 April 2014 in Moscow on the premises of the all-Russian exposition center. As part of the integrated United engine corporation booth, NPO Saturn presented a production SaM146 engine. In general, the International engine-building salon 2014 featured civil and military applications exhibited by the Russian and foreign companies and delivered presentations of different products and services.
The first day of the salon was marked by the signature of a collaboration agreement between NPO Saturn and the S.S. Kutateladze thermal physics institute of the Siberian division of the Russian academy of sciences with the purpose of development and increase of competitive edge of civil and industrial gas turbine engine building in the Russian Federation, collaboration in solving research and practical tasks considering the leading role of the institute as Russia’s leading research center in the field of heat exchange and physical fluid dynamics, and taking into consideration the vast experience and competences of NPO Saturn as Russia’s leading engine-building company in the field of design and manufacture of gas turbine engines for aviation and power generation.
The NPO Saturn individual scholarship program rated as efficient
April 16, 2014, Rybinsk. - The NPO Saturn management rendered substantial support to the development of the ‘NPO Saturn individual scholarship program’ throughout 2014 manifested in as many as 15 grant’s-in-aid awarded to undergraduate students in the amount of up to 5000 rubles per month and 8 grant’s-in-aid awarded to post-graduate students in the amount of up to 10 000 rubles per month.
The undergraduate and postgraduate student support program (spanning students from P.A. Solovev RSATU of Rybinsk, MAI of Moscow and PNIPU of Perm) got underway a year ago with the purpose of producing the research and technology backlog of knowledge, involvement of the young engineers in the research studies and creating mechanisms of enticing and recruiting the most talented youth to work for the company. This program was devised and adopted by NPO Saturn’s research and technology council. In 2014 it is envisaged to hire the graduate students involved in the research studies, so they can start working fulltime for NPO Saturn’s design bureau.
NPO Saturn introduced a telecommunication system based on the Microsoft Lync Server 2013
April 10, 2014, Rybinsk. - NPO Saturn conjointly with COMPAREX has introduced an integrated telecommunication system based on the Microsoft Lync Server 2013 into the company’s daily operations.
Geographical repartition and the need for a faster and a higher-quality exchange of information had led NPO Saturn to the idea of upgrading its existing telecommunication system based on the state-of-the-art IT solutions. Since most of NPO Saturn’s IT architecture is built off the Microsoft technologies, the company opted for the Lync software which allows to integrate the company’s scattered telecommunication channels using a unique platform and bring corporate interaction to another level. The COMPAREX company played the role of NPO Saturn’s project partner in that process.
