The representatives of Inter RAO, United Engine Corporation (UEC) and NPO Saturn discussed and approved the current state of partnership regarding the GTE-110 high-power gas turbine retrofit project
August 11, 2014, Rybinsk. - A visit of the representatives of Inter RAO, UEC and NPO Saturn took place and resulted in the drawing of conclusions that NPO Saturn has all the necessary faculties to produce high-power gas turbines, can continue a strategic partnership with Inter RAO in the frame of the implementation of the GTE-110 retrofit project and develop its derivative GTE-110M engine.
The GTE-110 manufactured by NPO Saturn represents a power gas turbine in the power class of over 110 megawatts (ISO 114.5 Mw) with a fully mastered production cycle.
NPO Saturn successfully completed the first supervisory audit administered by EASA with relation to repair operations performed on the SaM146 engines
August 8, 2014, Rybinsk. - The repair business of NPO Saturn (a part of the UEC holding belonging to the Rostec State Corporation) successfully passed its maiden supervisory audit administered by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The audit was held on 5 - 7 August 2014, and demonstrated full compliance of NPO Saturn with the requirements of the European airworthiness regulations (Part 145) imposed by EASA on organizations involved in MRO activities on aviation products. As a result of the audit, no discrepancies that could prevent the prolongation of the held certificate were found.
NPO SATURN UNITED THE ENGINE BUILDERS IN THE FRAME OF ITS 28TH YOUTH GATHERING
July 28, 2014, Rybinsk. - The 28th (summer) NPO Saturn Youth Gathering dedicated to the year of culture in the Russian Federation took place on 25-27 July at the Demino ski center. The organizers of this main corporate event were the social programs department, the NPO Saturn youth board and the company’s trade union joined by the Yaroslavl branch of the Union of Russian mechanical engineers. By tradition, the general sponsor of the Gathering was the VTB Bank, a business partner of NPO Saturn.
The SaM146 engine: 100 thousand hours on wing
July 7, 2014, Rybinsk. - As of July 1, 2014, the total time on wing generated by the fleet of the SaM146 engines in revenue service powering the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft has exceeded 100 000 flight hours.
The main reliability indicators of the engine operation meet the requirements of the international standards and world practice of operating modern aircraft engines. In particular, the engines dispatch ratio ensuring the timely departure of an aircraft is estimated to be 99.96 %.
As of today, the airlines have already received 35 SSJ100 in total; the current flight network comprises around 70 airports in 23 different states. The main customers operating the SSJ100 aircraft powered by the SaM146 engines are the Russian companies such as Aeroflot - Russian Airlines, Gazpromavia, Moskoviya, Yakutiya, Tsentr-Yug, as well as a number of foreign airlines including InterJet (Mexico), Sky Aviation (Indonesia) and Lao Central Airlines (Laos). Since June 2014 the SSJ100 are also delivered to YuTair-Express. The airline has ordered 6 SSJ100 aircraft + another 18 aircraft on option.
