A working meeting took place between the Yaroslavl region governor Sergey Yastrebov and NPO Saturn chief executive officer Ilya Fedorov

February 18, 2014, Rybinsk. - A traditional working meeting between Sergey Yastrebov, the governor of the Yaroslavl region and Ilya Fedorov, chief executive officer of NPO Saturn took place at the Yaroslavl regional administration.
In the course of the meeting, the parties reviewed the results of NPO Saturn’s operations in 2013 and the company’s plans for 2014. The head of the region was content with the results demonstrated by the company in 2013. Compared to 2012, the production and sales volumes grew by 28% and 35% respectively. The company’s revenue following the results of 2013 exceeded RUR 17.5 bln. The per-employee-output increased by 43% compared to 2012 having reached RUR 1.5 mln.
NPO Saturn had implemented a significant volume of activities aimed at creating a new image of the company. State support rendered to NPO Saturn gave the company some strong impetus to move forward; at this point in time NPO Saturn is virtually reconstructing itself through creating new, high-tech production facilities and test beds while ensuring principally new labor conditions. At that, the volume of the company’s own investments in civil engineering and production facilities upgrade throughout 2013 topped RUR 3.5 bln.
The governor of the Yaroslavl region inquired about the implementation of the SaM146 engine program powering Sukhoi Superjet100 in the current year. In the nearest future NPO Saturn will sign off its 100th engine to be delivered to Komsomolsk-upon-Amur. Sergey Yastrebov was fond of the positive growth dynamics observed at Saturn in relation with the SaM146 serial production program which is in full compliance with the expectations of the engine customer - Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC).
The regional leader paid particular attention to the implementation of the state defense order realized by Saturn in strict accordance with the schedule while assuring the expected quality level.
The parties also touched upon the subject of recruiting highly-qualified personnel to take on the company’s constantly growing volume of production. The governor noted that the Yaroslavl regional government would render NPO Saturn all kinds of support.
The governor and NPO Saturn CEO also discussed the conducting of an International technological forum in Rybinsk in the frame of developing the innovative territorial cluster “Gas turbine machinery and power engineering” in which Saturn functions as the integrator. Sergey Yastrebov supported the idea of conducting the forum dubbed “Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing” as a start-off point for launching new innovation projects in the best interests of the companies doing business in the territory of the Yaroslavl region, finding new partners, interesting prospective contacts including those on the international level.
 
 
 
The NPO Saturn Research and Production Association (OJSC) is an engine-building company specialized in the design and development, production and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and civil aviation, naval ships and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units. The association is part of the All-Russian public organization The Union of mechanical engineers of Russia whereby the regional branch is headed by I. N. Fedorov, NPO Saturn CEO.
