December 22, 2014, Rybinsk. - The items related to the development of industrial collaboration between the engine manufacturers in UEC’s Commercial Engines Division, the development of outsourcing at each company and achievement of excellence in this field were reviewed during a dedicated meeting held in Moscow.
Following the meeting results, a decision was made to analyze the supplier evaluation standards effective in NPO Saturn, PMZ and Aviadvigatel, synchronize supplier requirements and exchange the “Lists of approved suppliers”.
In order to bolster collaboration within the Commercial Engines Division and work out a common approach to outsourcing in terms of requesting and exchanging the necessary information, a “one window” policy between the companies was adopted during the meeting. Based on the NPO Saturn supplier evaluation system, a unique information system will be created for the Commercial Engines Division.
As an outcome of the meeting, the participants agreed to devise a road map leading to the implementation of the “Resolution on collaboration in production of engine modules within UEC’s Commercial Engines Division”.
In the immediate future, a number of joint meetings with external industrial companies will take place focusing on the engineering of refractory hardware and manufacturing of gearboxes and gears.
