February 3, 2015, Rybinsk. - The governor of the Yaroslavl Region visited NPO Saturn and took part in a meeting dedicated to summarizing the company’s results demonstrated in 2014 and discussing the prospects with regard to NPO Saturn’s main fields of activity in 2015.
The governor gave a high appraisal of NPO Saturn’s main indicators for 2014. The production volume in 2014 amounted to RUB 18 billion. The year-on-year increase demonstrated by the Rybinsk-based site was 20%.
The significant increase of production volume required the company to additionally hire a certain number of highly-skilled personnel; from January to December the number of NPO Saturn employees increased by 596 people.
Based on the reached production volume indicators and in view of the increasing number of employees, the annual per capita output reached RUB 1.5 million, the year-on-year increase being 11%. The improved performance allowed NPO Saturn to ensure an 11% salary increase compared to 2013.
The 2014 was characterized by a substantial increase of investments in the company’s fixed assets, primarily in the refurbishment of the production facilities and purchasing of new machine tools. Overall, in 2014 the company spent RUB 4 billion on this activity.
The demonstrated performance is undoubtedly a result of diligent effort of the entire NPO Saturn team proving that the company continues to grow and has a great industrial potential for further development.
The secured order portfolio allows to precipitate the volume of production and sales in 2015 in the amount of RUB 24 billion.
In the course of the meeting with the NPO Saturn team, Sergey Yastrebov shared on the successes and achievements of the Yaroslavl Region over 2014 placing particular emphasis on the promising prospects of commercial and military engine manufacturing which certainly allows the government of the Yaroslavl Region to build plans for the future.
Touching upon the economic situation in the region, the governor stated that the Yaroslavl Region is constantly considered among the first three-four best regions in the Central Federal District (excluding the Moscow Region). “For the first time in history, we have exceeded RUB 50 billion in terms of our own revenue, - continued the governor, - no other region can boast of such high internal revenue. We are proud indeed that our industry has allowed us to reach such indicators. These figures represent social welfare of the people living in this region. All that instills hope that the region will continue to do well even during the tough 2015. As far as the government support of the companies in the defense-industrial complex is concerned, all the necessary resolutions have already been adopted. The budget of the defense-industrial complex has not been reduced by a single kopeck, the state defense order being the No. 1 priority. We have managed to secure advance payments from the government. The companies delivering on the state defense order on time are entitled to receiving up to 80% of payments in advance. Here we are trying to create all the necessary conditions to make sure that all the serious tasks delegated to us by the government, first of all the imported goods substitution program, are fulfilled. These government tasks have been assigned to Rybinsk, a very strong city in terms of the quality of its engineering personnel.”
Based on the immaculate results demonstrated by the company over the past few years, and for a significant personal contribution to the development of the Yaroslavl Region facilitating its economic and social welfare, the head of the region presented Ilya Fedorov with a prestigious Melgunov decoration (the governor award of excellence).
“Ilya Nikolaevich Fedorov - has done great at the helm of the ship with the beautiful name of Saturn, and we will be sure to fulfill all the tasks posed to us for the good of the region, and especially for the good of the citizens of the magnificent city of Rybinsk!” - underscored the governor.
In his turn, NPO Saturn CEO Ilya Fedorov expressed his gratitude to the governor of the Yaroslavl Region for such a high and extremely important award: “I’m in love with the Yaroslavl Region and the city of, Rybinsk, and I’ll do all I can for the prosperity of our region. It’s a great honor to receive this award which is so important to me. This, in a sense, is the acknowledgement of the level of importance given to NPO Saturn today in the Yaroslavl Region. I assure you that I will continue doing all within my power to make the engine manufacturing center in Rybinsk more successful and competitive on the world market.”
The NPO Saturn Research and Production Association (OJSC) is an engine-manufacturing company specialized in the design and development, production and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and commercial aviation, naval ships and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units.
