April 20, 2015, Rybinsk. - Today, during the management meeting held at NPO Saturn’s Rybinsk site, the company’s chief executive officer Ilya Fedorov announced his decision to leave his post effective on 1 May 2015.
Addressing himself to the company’s managers, Mr. Fedorov expressed his gratitude to the entire company’s staff for the fruitful collaboration over the past five and a half years, and called upon the company to continue, in unity and full dedication as always before, carrying out the most important government tasks focused on the development of commercial, military, marine and industrial gas turbine engines, which has become ever so important under the imposed sanctions and in view of ensuring the state policy of the imported goods substitution.
Ilya Nikolaevich Fedorov was born on 31 January 1955 in the town of Dubna in the Moscow Region. In 1978 he graduated from the Serpukhov top military command school specializing in the “Operation of airborne vehicles”. From June 1978 to May 2001 Mr. Fedorov served in the Russian Defense Ministry’s Air Force. Upon completion of military service, he held several executive posts in the Russian industry, being the head of Service PromInvest (OJSC) and the N.P. Fedorov Dubna machine-building plant (OJSC). He is a fluent speaker of French and English. From 2009 to December 2014 Mr. Fedorov was deputy CEO of United Engine Corporation [UEC] (JSC). Since August 2009 he’s served as NPO Saturn chief executive officer.
The NPO Saturn Research and Production Association (OJSC) is an engine-manufacturing company specialized in the design and development, production and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and commercial aviation, naval ships and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units. The association is part of the Union of Russian mechanical engineers, an all-Russian public organization whereby the regional branch is headed by I. N. Fedorov, NPO Saturn CEO.
NPO Saturn is part of United Engine Corporation (JSC) and acts as the leader of the Commercial Engines Division, a business unit of UEC founded on 09.10.2012 as a result of integration of the following companies: NPO Saturn (OJSC), Aviadvigatel (OJSC), PMZ (OJSC), Metallist-PM (CJSC), Energetik-PM (OJSC), REMOS-PM (CJSC), Motoservis-PM (CJSC) and Zheleznodorozhnik-PM (CJSC).
