United Engine Corporation (UEC, a Rostec State Corporation company) announces new appointments having occurred within the company.
Victor Polyakov has been appointed Managing Director NPO Saturn JSC (located in Rybinsk) having served over the past three years (from 2013 to 2015) as NPO Saturn deputy CEO in charge of the industrial collaboration development. Mr. Polyakov will commence his duties as CEO on 30 April 2015.
Victor Polyakov was born on 26 April 1953 in Rybinsk, the Yaroslavl Region. In 1975 he graduated from the “Aircraft Engines” faculty of the Rybinsk Aviation Technological Institute. In 1992 he completed a comprehensive course “Intracorporate management and enterprise economy” of the Management faculty at the G.V. Plekhanov Russian Economics Academy’s Manager Training Center. He started his career with NPO Saturn in 1975 (back then the company was called the Rybinsk engine design and manufacturing association) going from a foreman to deputy production director for special-purpose products. From 2009 to 2013 he was at the helm of NPO Saturn’s production direction. From 2013 to 2015 he served as NPO Saturn deputy CEO in charge of the industrial collaboration development. Victor Polyakov holds the title of the honorary citizen of Rybinsk.
Sergey Popov, at present chief executive officer at the Perm Engine Company, has been appointed head of the Commercial Engines Division (CED). Mr. Popov will retain his current post while NPO Saturn will retain the status of CED’s leader. As a reminder, besides the Rybinsk company, the two other companies in United Engine Corporation’s Commercial Engines Division are Aviadvigatel and the Perm Engine Plant, both located in Perm and technologically linked.
Sergey Popov was born in 1969 in Rybinsk, the Yaroslavl Region. In 1992 he graduated from the Rybinsk Aviation Technological Institute with a diploma of mechanical and production engineer of aircraft engines; in 2002 he graduated from the Moscow State Management University’s “Personnel management” faculty. From 1993 to 2008 he worked at NPO Saturn where he went from a fitter to a deputy technical director for operations. In the period of 2005 - 2008 he worked as NPO Saturn human resources director. In 2008-2009 he spearheaded the Perm-based equipment association Inkar after which he returned to NPO Saturn as the company’s commercial director. In 2012-2013 Mr. Popov was appointed chief executive officer of START (located in Perm).
Since 1 February 2013 he has served as chief executive officer of the Perm Engine Company.
Previously the post of NPO Saturn CEO and head of the Commercial Engines Division was occupied by Ilya Fedorov who has now left the company.
