Site news 25.05.2015

May 25, 2015, Rybinsk. - According to the official data, as of 25 May 2015, overall operating time of the SaM146 engines has gone past 200 000 flight hours.
According to NPO Saturn CEO Victor Polyakov, “it is very important that over the four years of revenue service as part of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (SSJ100), the main engine reliability indicators have remained at the international standard level and world practice of operating modern gas turbine engines. In particular, the aircraft dispatch ratio (aircraft on-time take-off reliability) has remained at 99.95 %.”
To date, the airlines have received 55 SSJ100 jets, the flight itinerary spans around 130 airports in 30 different countries. The main operators of the SaM146-powered SSJ100 aircraft are the Russian airlines, such as Aeroflot - Russian Airlines - 19 aircraft, Gazpromavia - 8 aircraft, Yakutia - 2 aircraft, Center-South - 3 aircraft, Red Wings - 3 aircraft, The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs - 1 aircraft, and also a number of foreign airlines: InterJet (Mexico) - 15 aircraft, Sky Aviation (Indonesia) - 3 aircraft, and Lao Central Airlines (Laos) - 1 aircraft. To sustain non-stop operation of the SaM146 engines, PowerJet (a joint venture between NPO Saturn and Snecma) has fully implemented a required, internationally-certified infrastructure:  a 24/7 customer support center, spare parts distribution centers, and MRO facilities located in Russia and France.

Some factsThe SaM146 power plant was designed and developed by NPO Saturn in partnership with Snecma, a French company, and represents an integrated power plant (including the engine, nacelle, and the engine accessories), designed specifically for application on the new generation of regional aircraft. The SaM146 program is based on a strategic partnership principles, with risk and revenue sharing on the basis of parity relevant to every aspect of functioning. When it comes to responsibility sharing, NPO Saturn is in charge of the design of the engine low-pressure section parts, their production, and conducting special tests on these parts; Saturn is equally in charge of the final assembly of engine, engine instrumentation, conducting all the necessary ground tests, and engine delivery to the customer. Snecma, in turn, is in charge of the design and manufacturing of the engine high-pressure section parts, overall management of the design and engine systems integration, while also being responsible for conducting the power plant flight tests, and integration of the power plant with the airframe.SaM146 - is the first Russian-made power plant having received an international type certificate issued by EASA. The first application of the SaM146 power plant is the Sukhoi Superjet 100 family of aircraft designed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (a 100% subsidiary of the aviation holding company Sukhoi) in partnership with Alenia (Italy). The engine has now been created and certified. All the engine performance characteristics have been demonstrated in operation. A number of actions focused on the post-certification of the engine relative to conducting endurance tests, performance optimization, and weight minimization, and also some specific design actions aimed at the improvement of customer satisfaction and in-service reliability of the engine have been envisaged and are now undergoing implementation.
