May 28, 2015, Rybinsk. - On 28 May 2015, in the course of celebrating the Entrepreneur’s Day in the Yaroslavl Region, a thematic section dubbed “GenerationS. Focus on new innovative startups” dedicated to the GenerationS, a federal accelerator of technological startups whereby the organizer is the Russian Venture Company (RVC), and one of its industrial tracks dealing with the high-tech sector and aerospace industrial tools (Aerospace) was held. The main corporate partner of the named track is NPO Saturn, one of the largest industrial enterprises in the Yaroslavl Region.
NPO Saturn presented the Aerospace track to the attendees of the GenerationS section. In order to make the GenerationS appealing to high-tech companies and interest young scientists having their own developments and interesting ideas, and striving to commercialize the results of their activity, NPO Saturn innovative development director Dmitriy Ivanov shared about the opportunities available to the innovators in the frame of the Aerospace track, having highlighted the following: “All projects admitted to the Aerospace track are given a unique chance to develop their business in the world of aerospace. Already during the pre-accelerator stage, which serves as the very first step of the GenerationS training, every project is given an opportunity to present its main idea, communicate with an expert in that particular domain, and listen to the expert’s conclusion. Our experience shows that the lack of high-quality expert evaluation kills the majority of worthy ideas at the very start; subsequently, what we consider to be the most interesting ideas and projects will make it to the next stage, i.e. the accelerator stage. During that stage, as part of the internship and training programs the volume of communication with the experts will be growing more intense, the projects will be given an opportunity to “test” the advocated idea on all the company’s functional experts and receive the conclusion and comprehensive recommendations with relation to all the possible aspects of doing business in the aerospace sector. In the end, the winners will receive industrial packages of collaborating with NPO Saturn starting with an expert evaluation at the early stages of the project development to a full-fledged collaboration in the course of the project industrialization and creation of a joint venture. And that is just our “special” package. Other partners of the accelerator and the track will provide their own proposals with regard to the stimulation which we are currently preparing with RVC and the Regional Innovation Center of the Samara Region.”
To enroll in the Aerospace track of the GenerationS, the federal technological startup accelerator, it is necessary to submit an application by 30 June 2015 at the GenerationS website: www.generation-startup.ru/register/ presenting a project or a development in the field of new materials, methods and ways of material processing, part manufacturing processes, modeling, robotics and automation, new types of fuel, gas dynamics and combustion, aerodynamics and structural strength, etc. Throughout the year the participants undergo several training programs and submit their projects for evaluation to the experts of the corporate partner and investors. The winners will be awarded grants-in-aid starting from 1 million rubles. The training program was devised by the track operator, the Samara-based Regional Innovation Center taking into account the specificities of the industry’s major players, and provides for internships at the industrial sites of the event’s corporate partners.
GenerationS is administered by RVC since 2013 with the support of Russian corporations, growth institutes, and representatives of the venture infrastructure. In the course of acceleration, the best projects chosen as a result of a multi-step evaluation see intensive development and receive broad possibilities of attracting investments. In 2015 GenerationS is being conducted in close cooperation with large-scale Russian corporations interested in finding prospective innovative technologies through the GenerationS regional partner network bringing together startup schools, business incubators, universities and other participants of the innovative ecosystem working with startups showing investment prospects and technically feasible developments.
