June 19, 2015, Rybinsk. - At the traditional, 13th international exhibition of achievements in the oil and gas industry dubbed “Oil & gas 2015”, to be held in Moscow from 23 to 26 June, NPO Saturn will present a host of new and some already proven unified serial products, among which:
- the E70/8RD, a unique commercial dual-fuel marine engine capable of switching automatically from one fuel to another during engine operation. The engine is intended for driving power generators and superchargers of gas-pumping equipment installed at the seaside and sea-based facilities;
- the SGTG-8, a dual-fuel gas turbine power generator with power capacity of 8 MW in the marine configuration derived from the E70/8RD gas turbine engine for powering sea-based and seaside facilities as well as different types of vessels;
- the GTE-4RM, a high-performance gas turbine engine used as part of gas-pumping equipment for underground gas storage.
To date, the total of 233 industrial gas turbine engines ranging from 2.5 to 10 MW in power are operated at various Russian sites. The total operating time of all the ground-based engines put together has approached 3 000 000 hours.
NPO Saturn believes that in view of the international sanctions, the Russian manufacturers of gas turbines stand a unique chance of increasing the production and sales volume of their products.
As a result of common effort, in 2015 UEC and NPO Saturn plan to double the sales volume compared to the sales in 2014. Traditionally, the main customers for the NPO Saturn engine-based equipment are the major oil & gas companies such as Gasprom, Rosneft, Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, Surgutneftegaz as well as power suppliers - the power-generating companies MOEK, Mosenergo, the Naryan-Mar power plant, the Dorogobuzhskaya heat and power plant and other companies. In 2015 over 50 new and repaired power plants are slated for delivery to the customers.
Being a supplier to the “Power of Siberia” gas pipeline project conjointly with UEC - Gas turbines, NPO Saturn supplies the GPA-4RM gas-pumping equipment powered by the GTE-4RM gas turbine engines for pumping gas into underground gas storage rooms also taking part in the infrastructure engineering of the “South stream” project and collaborating with other oil and gas production and transportation projects led by such major oil & gas market players as Gazprom, Rosneft and Lukoil.
At present, the most in-demand NPO Saturn-supplied industrial gas turbine engines are the ones generating up to 6 MW of power used for the power-generating gas turbine units as well as the engines with power capacity of 4 MW designed for gas-pumping equipment pumping gas into the underground gas storage rooms. For instance, in 2015 the company plans to deliver 12 power engines destined for powering the infrastructure of Gazprom’s Kovyktinskoe and Chayandinskoe fields. 7 GTE-4RM engines are planned for delivery to the Krasnodar underground gas storage rooms and the Maikopskaya compressor station as well as 4 back-up GTE-4RM engines for Gazprom’s underground gas storage facilities. Besides, in 2015 8 GTE-6RM engines will be delivered to power the GTA-6RM power units at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomsk field operated by Vostsibneftegaz / Rosneft.
NPO Saturn, UEC, ROSNANO and InterRAO in the frame of both the agreement and the contract signed by the parties are intensively working towards the improvement of the design and increase of reliability of the GTE-110 engine. The program work completion is planned for 2017. As a result, the Russian electric power industry will be able to receive a reliable, which is paramount, and competitive engine delivering the total of over 100 MW of power.
Working together with UEC, NPO Saturn continues working at the quality and reliability improvement of the equipment delivered to its customers. NPO Saturn chief executive officer has approved “The plan of improving quality and reliability of industrial gas turbine engines of small and average power capacity for 2015” stipulating the implementation of some design and production actions aimed at boosting the customer satisfaction at operating the NPO Saturn-supplied products.
To sustain reliable operation of the NPO Saturn-delivered engines at the customer sites, the company has created the Department of aftermarket support and service which oversees the operation of the customer-based industrial GTE, ensures delivery of spare parts and equipment and offers to the customers services of on-site supervision, installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of the supplied equipment.
Victor Polyakov, NPO Saturn CEO paid particular attention to the fact that “in order to be able to secure additional orders, NPO Saturn must first and foremost ensure reliability and quality of its engines while delivering them in strict accordance with the contractual terms. This objective is the priority to our company.”
