July 15, 2015, Rybinsk. - The development of industrial collaboration between the companies integrated in UEC’s “Commercial Engines Division” was the key item on the agenda of the recent visit to NPO Saturn of Sergey Popov, chairman of the CED and chief executive officer of the Perm Engine Plant.
The following items were also discussed in the course of the visit: the results of the II quarter 2015 budget execution and setting goals for III quarter 2015; compliance with the schedule of construction and refurbishment of the main facilities of the company’s production and test-enabling infrastructure; current status of the SaM146 engine program as well as that of the marine and industrial gas turbine engines; development of the collaboration on the PS-90 gas turbine engine and the format of participation in the Moscow Air Show 2015 (MAKS-2015).
Commenting on the results of his visit, Mr. Popov noted as follows: “today we were able to pinpoint the real steps towards the further interaction between the companies involved in the common activities. Lots of attention was paid to setting up a customer support system for the PD-14 turbofan capitalizing on the experience that NPO Saturn has acquired on the SaM146 engine, collaboration on the PS-90 engine with a prospect of transferring a portion of work to Saturn starting from 2016. Besides, during the meeting we openly discussed how we could be useful for each other. But, what’s obvious, is that NPO Saturn as an autonomous business unit is actively developing itself and demonstrates high performance of its operation.”
NPO Saturn chief executive officer Victor Polyakov underscored that “every new meeting with the Commercial Engines Division’s leadership becomes more and more constructive. We strive to find effective ways of managing the division itself and our company as its part and, in the end, obtain some tangible results through our industrial collaboration.”
The NPO Saturn Research and Production Association (OJSC) is an engine-manufacturing company specialized in the design and development, production, and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and commercial aviation, naval ships, and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units. The association is part of the Union of Russian Mechanical Engineers, an All-Russian public organization.
NPO Saturn is part of United Engine Corporation (JSC) and acts as the leader of the Commercial Engines Division, a business unit of UEC founded on 09.10.2012 as a result of integration of the following companies: NPO Saturn (OJSC), Aviadvigatel (OJSC), PMZ (OJSC), Metallist-PM (CJSC), Energetik-PM (OJSC), Motoservis-PM (CJSC), and Zheleznodorozhnik-PM (CJSC).
