United Engine Corporation, JSC (UEC, a Rostec State Corporation company) announced appointment of a new CEO during its extraordinary shareholders meeting. From now on, the new UEC leader is Alexander Artyukhov, who formerly spearheaded the Ufa Engine Manufacturing Association (UMPO) and the corporation’s Military Engines Division.
Vladislav Masalov, who occupied that post since July 2012 has resigned and plans to dedicate himself to the implementation of other strategic industrial projects.
The new CEO of UEC was presented to the top management by Andrey Boginskiy, deputy minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation. Senior executives from the companies integrated in the corporation also took part in the top management meeting.
Andrey Boginskiy thanked the former chief executive officer Vladislav Masalov for his work and his contribution to the development of the holding during his tenure. “Over the last years UEC has demonstrated steady growth of its production volume not only ramping up the volume of the state defense order products but executing some savvy decisions aimed at the improvement of collaboration between the corporation companies and enhancing a dialog with the key customers and partners. The corporation’s new chief executive officer Alexander Artyukhov is first of all charged with the tasks of realizing the company’s strategic development projects, improving the efficiency of major investment projects and development of the human resources potential of the entire holding,” - asserted Mr. Boginskiy.
“The appointment of a new UEC CEO was a logical step in the corporation’s development. Over the three years, we have been able to achieve the set objectives relevant to the modernization of the production facilities and launching of a number of new strategic projects. The holding’s new investment program adopted by Rostec requires the company management to have new competences allowing to realize the new ambitious goals leading the company to achieve the level of a key international player and successfully complete the projects already embarked on,” - said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of the Rostec State Corporation.
Alexander Viktorovich Artyukhov
Born on 20 July 1970 in Uralsk of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic.
In 1996 graduated from the Ufa State Aviation Technical University majoring in economics, administration and management of companies in the mechanical engineering industry, in 1998 graduated from the Bashkir Academy of Public Service and Administration majoring in financial management.
From 1988 to 1990 - service in the Soviet Army as enlisted staff;
From 1991 to 1991 - a test engineer of abrasive materials in the UMPO tooling department;
From 1993 to 1998 - a financial department economist, financial department group leader, UMPO financial department deputy head;
From 1998 to 2002 - UMPO financial department head;
From 2002 to 2003 - UMPO deputy chief executive officer for economic matters;
From 2003 to 2005 - UMPO deputy chief executive officer - UMPO chief accountant;
From 2005 to 2006 - UMPO executive vice-president;
From March 28, 2006 until today - UMPO general director and subsequently chief executive officer.
From March 2007 - deputy of the Quriltai State Assembly of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
From January 2012 - chair of the Bashkortostan regional branch of the “Union of Russian mechanical engineers”, an All-Russian public organization.
Mr. Artyukhov holds the title of the “Distinguished mechanical engineer of the Republic of Bashkortostan”.
Under Alexander Artyukhov’s leadership UMPO has become one of the most successful companies in the UEC holding. Over the past five years, starting from 2010, the production volume of the company has doubled.
In 2014 the production volume grew from RUB 7.1 bln. compared to 2013, to RUB 42 bln. 870 mln. (excluding VAT) with the product delivery rate growth reaching 110.6% compared to 2013.
For 8 years in a row the company has held the leader’s position with the highest revenue among the companies in UEC. In 2014 UMPO’s revenue equaled RUB 48 bln. 974 mln. The share of the state defense orders in the total production volume has grown from 36.2% logged in 2013 to 42.5% based on the 2014 figures.
