July 29, 2015, Rybinsk. - As part of the agenda of his visit to the Yaroslavl Region and familiarization with the agricultural and industrial potential and progress achieved in the region, plenipotentiary representative of the president of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District Alexander Beglov visited the Rybinsk-based NPO Saturn. The governor of the Yaroslavl Region Sergey Yastrebov and NPO Saturn CEO Victor Polyakov demonstrated to the president’s representative the development of the company’s R&D, industrial and testing infrastructure allowing to bring to reality the aviation, energy and marine gas turbine application programs thus implementing a wide range of the government-given tasks.
Answering to the journalists’ questions about the tasks NPO Saturn is currently implementing with relation to substitution of the previously imported goods, Alexander Beglov noted the following: Saturn has begun implementing the objectives set by the RF president Vladimir Putin. The company is revving up and is doing it quickly. Thanks to what? Look, how many young people work here. The youth wants to dare, to earn money and to be successful. Passing on the experience to the young is a very valuable asset, indeed. This is what’s most important. We will be sure to do the rest. As long as we have diligent and talented youth, any objectives become achievable.”
The governor of the Yaroslavl Region Sergey Yastrebov also emphasized that NPO Saturn “at the moment is a cutting-edge company in terms of producing aircraft engines and fulfilling the import substitution program” and shared about the importance of dual education spearheaded by NPO Saturn preparing the future employees for the region’s industrial companies: “Training of personnel is not a one-day task. We have been able to set up a dual education system in our region. At each level of this system we try to make sure that a specific profession is available allowing a person to master his or her professional readiness. To do so, we use the latest state-of-the-art technologies. Because the companies and NPO Saturn in particular have high-tech productions. The preparation to operate modern equipment including the willingness to learn something new is essential. Therefore, we give this system two thumbs up and proactively implement it since high school.”
Sharing about operating in new geopolitical conditions, Victor Polyakov added: NPO Saturn is successfully implementing both commercial and government contracts. In the current year we forecast the growth of production volume and revenue by 18% compared to the 2014 results. Any goal is achievable, there are no unsolvable tasks. Today’s geopolitical situation throws a lot of difficulties at us but at the same time it gives us a unique chance. Which chance you might wonder? I believe we will start thinking and acting quicker than before. In extreme conditions the previously unexplored mental and physical capacity emerges, sometimes solutions come at once. And therefore I’m convinced that what’s going on in the world right now including the anti-Russian sanctions will give a good boost to the development of Russia’s high-tech industries.”
The mass media couldn’t leave aside the 100th anniversary of NPO Saturn occurring in 2016. According to the governor, this date must be celebrated “in a great way. The company will welcome its birthday by the achievement of the new milestones in fulfilling its commitments and with some new production facilities put into operation. It will be an honor for the regional government to help organize a memorable celebration worth the hundred years of the company’s excellence and the excellence of its people.”
