November 10, 2015, Rybinsk. - “Think to win!” was the slogan of the I All-Russian competition “The young analyst”. Artyom Badernikov, an NPO Saturn engineer, was voted the best analyst having high professional and personal potential for carrying out analytic activity in the field of state administration and corporate governance.
Over 900 people had applied to participate in the contest of which 209 representatives of various scientific-educational organizations and such state corporations as Rosatom, Roskosmos and Rostec presented solutions to the assignments of competition’s first round. Among the contest participants were seven representatives of NPO Saturn: the eventual winner, head of the heat exchange and combustion team at the engineering analysis design department Artyom Badernikov, a design engineer Alexander Tulenkov, a senior accountant Elena Lirins, a leading specialist Mariya Smirnova, head of the SaM146 engine engineering support team Alexander Chernyshov, a design engineer Alexander Loginov, a leading engineer Alexander Okhotnikov and a specialist representing the NPO Saturn Lean department Anton Goryachev.
The competition proceeded in several stages. The two extramural rounds included solving interdisciplinary tasks and preparation of a reorganization plan of one’s department. Based on the first rounds’ results, 25 best contestants set out for Moscow to take part in the “live battle” which was held at the end of October. The final round of the competition saw the strongest analytical minds including two NPO Saturn contenders - Artyom Badernikov and Alexander Tulenkov. The young engineers demonstrated their analytical capacity and the ability to work in a team. Having constituted several groups, the participants were to present a global project of defense and social significance. Over the course of the entire competition, the jury were keeping a special rating which in the end was headed by Artyom Badernikov. Another finalist, Alexander Tulenkov, came in twelfth.
Artyom Badernikov, a graduate of the applied math and mechanical science faculty of the Voronezh State University. Having spent nine years at one of the Voronezh design bureaus, he decided to relocate to Rybinsk in search of new prospective projects. “The concentration of intelligent people per square meter is very high at NPO Saturn’s engineering analysis design department. This is my place and these are my people. I have been working here for eight years now and I’m content with everything,” - notes Artyom. - The most exciting thing is that I can delegate my business to the youth whenever I need to be away from the office.”
The organizer of “The young analyst” competition is the Association for the development of analytical potential of the personality, society and state called Analytics. The winners and finalists of the competition, besides the certificates and gifts, were entitled to internship programs at some of Russia’s best industrial companies and organizations and included in the Expert Network of the Analytics association with subsequent involvement in the development of tools for solving the state administration tasks.
The NPO Saturn Research and Production Association (OJSC) is an engine-manufacturing company specialized in the design and development, production, and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and commercial aviation, naval ships, and power-generating plants and gas-pumping units.
