November 12, 2015, Rybinsk. - The World Quality Day has firmly settled on the list of significant dates celebrated in many countries of the world. For the high-tech profile of NPO Saturn, the functioning of the quality management system at a specific level is the result of everyday selfless work of its employees, which in the end ensures customers’ expectations and demands, and safe operation of its products and services for the people and for the environment. This guarantees the company’s successful development down the road and its competitiveness in the market.
Quality as such is always essential. Continued development and fine-tuning of the quality management system ensuring reproducibility of the specified quality level of the produced goods, obtaining the necessary documentation from the authorities so that the company can go on with its business, technical inspection of the produced goods quality, organizing and administering internal and supplier audits and the normative documents control - these are the main fields of activity of the quality direction which was established at NPO Saturn back in October of 1995 with the aim of ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Russian Federation legislation with relation to certification and licensing. Looking back at its nearly hundred-year history, NPO Saturn first started using the SLPCO (Scientific Labor, Production and Control Organization), the QRLFP (Quality, Reliability and Life of the First Products methodology) and the PTQMS (Product Total Quality Management System). Over the course of time the implementation techniques were evolving, however, the requirements towards the quality of produced goods have always remained uncompromised.
Today, compliance of the NPO Saturn quality management system in the design, fabrication and maintenance of aviation products, weapons and military products with the requirements of the standards AS/EN 9100, GOST РВ 0015. 002 and the Russian and European airworthiness regulations (AP-21, AP-145, FAP-145, EASA-21 and EASA-145) is confirmed by the certificates awarded by the national and international certification bodies of the respective Russian and European airworthiness authorities.
“I’d like to note that NPO Saturn has emerged as the first company in Russia to receive the approval certificates for its engine manufacturing, repair and maintenance activities granted by the EASA, and that is due to the effort of the company’s employees working together as one team with the quality direction specialists to get the result, - says Victor Polyakov, NPO Saturn CEO. - What’s important is that to date NPO Saturn has been able to set up its very own quality management system compliant with the requirements of all the pertinent international and Russian standards and the customer requirements. I rest assured that we’ll be able to implement the various initiatives seeking to improve the quality level and the company’s competitive edge.”
