April 18, 2016, Rybinsk. - On April 19, 2016 in Moscow the IV report-and-election convention of Russia’s mechanical engineers union will open its session. The convention will be attended by approximately 1000 delegates and duly authorized representatives from the Union’s 68 regional branches, representatives of the federal judicial and executive bodies, financial and business circles, the civil society institutions, leadership of major industrial corporations and associations as well as the biggest scientific and educational organizations. Ministers from the union-related domains are also invited to attend the event. In the frame of the upcoming convention, president of Russia’s mechanical engineers union, general director of the Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov will tally up the five-year results of the union’s operations.
The delegation from the Yaroslavl Region will be headed by the chairperson of the Union’s regional representation, managing director of NPO Saturn Victor Polyakov. The delegation will also include first deputy chairperson - general secretary of the branch, first deputy director of human resources of NPO Saturn Yuriy Pautov; general director of SatIZ Maxim Chernyshov; member of the board of the Union’s regional branch, general director of Rostov optical-mechanical plant Yuriy Savin; member of the board of the Union’s regional branch, general director of the Yaroslavl electrical machinery plant ELDIN Tursun Akhunov; and deputy general director for commerce and economic policy at GMZ Agat Irina Turkina.
To date, the Yaroslavl regional representation of Russia’s mechanical engineers union counts 158 physical entities, 13 major industrial corporations and the region’s leading educational institutions.
As was noted by the chairperson of the Union’s regional branch Victor Polyakov, “our regional branch has long been an avid promoter of the regional machine-building companies’ interests at both regional and federal level and support of the defense and industrial complex. We are discussing the initiatives on setting up a system of state support of the launch order for high-tech, long-cycle machine-building products; regarding changing the conventional order of financing the federal target programs’ events in order to preclude the allocation of the main volume of investment for the last years; regarding the decrease of credit interest rates or maintaining a mechanism of providing companies with subsidies for repaying the interest rate for the period until 2025 ãîäà; on how to avoid the unnecessary custom barriers and some others. Particular attention is given to helping the industrial companies solve their staffing issues. Toward that end, the Union’s regional branch participates in organizing job fairs, professional skill competitions including an international contest (WorldSkills); in a systemic dual education projects for which NPO Saturn is ranking among the 3 best training companies in Russia.”
