On May 18, 2016 on the premises of the Rybinsk state historical-architectural reserve museum an event dubbed “The day of giving” as an initiative dedicated to NPO Saturn’s centenary and as a token of respect of all those whose lives have been intertwined with the company took place.
The main theme of this year’s event is “The Rybinsk engine builders” exposition which will showcase the artifacts linked with the city’s main enterprise - NPO Saturn. A series of books called “Saturn. Link between generations” published by NPO Saturn over 2011 - 2015 was presented to the museum as a gift. NPO Saturn also enriched the exposition with a number of photographs reflecting the life and work of the legendary director of the Rybinsk engine-manufacturing plant Mr. Pavel Fyodorovich Derunov. Artyom Tikhonov
, head of NPO Saturn social programs division, conveyed the company’s greetings to the museum: “It is symbolic that the company’s centennial anniversary coincided with the 100th anniversary of Pavel Derunov, and epochal figure, much loved respected in our company, who is also an honorable citizen of Rybinsk, hero of socialist labor and a laureate of the USSR state prize in the field of science and technology. His time-tested thoughts and ideas helped NPO Saturn grow rapidly, unite the multiple workforce and make a great contribution to the development of the aircraft engine manufacturing.”
The “Rybinsk engine builders” exposition was featured at the “Long night of museums” event held on May 21, 2016. The collecting of new materials to further enrich the exposition is well underway; the updated exposition will be presented to the broad public in the frame of the “City’s engine” exhibition which will be held on the Rybinsk Homecoming Day.
