Advanced manufacturing technologies for the "Factories of the Future" project became the key topic of the IV International Technological Forum Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing"

April 24, 2017, Rybinsk. The IV International Technological Forum Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing" (ITF - 2017) was opened in Rybinsk located in the Yaroslavl Region on April 24, 2017. Advanced manufacturing technologies for the "Factory of the Future" project were the key topic of a 4-day activity (April 24-27, 2017) for representatives of State Corporations and private enterprises, government authorities, research and development centers, development institutions. NPO Saturn PJSC (a part of United Engine Corporation (JSC), a Rostec State Corporation company) is traditionally one of the International Technological Forum organizers in Rybinsk.

, Temporarily Acting Governor of the Yaroslavl Region: "We expect the IV Forum to bring new ideas which will be included in the elaborated development roadmap of the Yaroslavl Region as an NTI region.  Obviously, this roadmap will be based on the "Factory of the Future's Test Bed" project of NPO Saturn, one of the industrial leaders in the Yaroslavl Region. It may become the main development trends of the Region". The objective of the regional management is to create the environment comfortable for business on the NTI markets in order to make the Yaroslavl Region a pilot one for the expansion of new generation high-tech competences among innovative small and medium-size businesses and in high-tech industries".

Aleksandr Artyukhov, JSC UEC CEO: "Today, a number of projects are being implemented at NPO Saturn. They are considered to be strategic for UEC.  The projects refer to the creation of a maritime gas turbine building base, the provision of advanced small-size engines for the State Defense Order, the SaM146 Program, the participation in the PD-14 Project, development of the first domestic high-power turbines, industrialization of new unique technologies and materials.  The company's diversity, its capability to carry out activities aimed at the creation of various products are ensured by the highest scientific and technical potential, the capability not only to master advanced technologies but also to apply them in series production.  I am sure that the full participation of NPO Saturn employees in the Forum "Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing" will not only acquaint its participants with the latest achievements and ideas of Rybinsk engine-builders but will also be useful for the enterprise itself".

Viktor Polyakov,  Deputy General Director-Managing Director of NPO Saturn PJSC, states: "As a part of United Engine Corporation (JSC), NPO Saturn is committed to implement the first projects in the creation of Factories of the Future, digital, smart, virtual factories, which is considered to be the main subject to be discussed during the Forum. Together with you we should set research and engineering tasks to be solved within the consortiums consisting of enterprises, institutes, small and medium-size businesses and define research and engineering tendencies of development, find new partners for the implementation of the tasks in practice".



The program of ITF-2017 includes over 20 interactive activities in different fields of advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive technologies, digital design and modeling, industrial Internet, robotics and artificial intelligence.

Among the co-organizers of the Forum sections and round tables there is Skolkovo Fund, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, ITMO University (Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics), LLC AB Universal, PJSC Rostelecom.

The range of questions to be considered includes the formation of new projects related to the development of technologies and consortiums in order to create Factories of the Future as well as the priority trends of markets of the future.

Dmitry Ivanov, NPO Saturn Innovative Development Director, Alexey Borovkov, Vice-Principal for Advanced Projects, Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, Co-head of the NTI TechNet working group (Advanced Manufacturing Technologies), Aleksander Fertman, Director for Science, Technologies and Skolkovo Fund, and others made a report on the first day of the Forum at the "Factories of the Future" plenary meeting.

During the Forum the Government of the Yaroslavl Region and NPO Saturn PJSC signed an agreement of cooperation through the implementation of actions aimed at the development of cross-market and advanced cross-industrial manufacturing technologies in the Yaroslavl Region which ensure technological support for the development of NTI markets and high-tech industrial sectors.

The all-Russia scientific and technical conference "The Best Technological Schools of Russia" organized by the Soloviev Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University became a part of the Forum. A public lecture on the topic "New industrial revolution: can we redesign the logic of key processes?" will be delivered by P.G. Shchedrovitsky, Rosatom State Corporation CEO's Adviser, Russian Methodologist and Political Consultant, and a meeting of the TechNet working group will be held during the Forum.

It is the fourth time NPO Saturn has acted as an idea initiator and one of the Forum organizers. NPO Saturn’s Training Centre has been traditionally selected a site for the round table dedicated to HR policy, at ITF-2017 it is called “Leaders of the Future”. Within the Forum there is to be an excursion to NPO Saturn for familiarization with the company, its centenary history, and today’s competences in building of high-technology products.

NPO Saturn PJSC is one of the leaders of the National Technological Initiative, of its TechNet domain – “Advanced Manufacturing Technologies”. Last February the Council of Russian Economy modernization and Innovative Development under the President of the Russian Federation approved the roadmap of the National Technological Initiative for the TechNet domain. According to the accepted plan NPO Saturn will become a production test bed – a “Smart Factory” prototype.

The outcome of the Forum will be the formation of new technology development projects and consortiums for the creation of Factories of the Future, proposals for the development of advanced manufacturing technologies.

According to the organizers, over 1200 participants have been registered for ITF-2017, 25 % of them are representatives of the Yaroslavl Region, 75 % are guests from regions of Russia and foreign countries. 70 % of the companies presented at ITF-2017 are enterprises oriented to high-technology production (state companies, large private business, small and medium-size business), 23 % are research organizations and development institutions, 7 % are educational establishments. There are more than 100 speakers recorded for the Forum.

The Forum is held with the support of JSC RVC - the official partner of the Forum, Agency for Strategic Initiatives, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF. ITF-2017 is organized by the TechNet working group of the National Technological Initiative (NPO Saturn PJSC, the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and other members of the workgroup), the government of the Yaroslavl Region, the Soloviev Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University, and the administration of Rybinsk.
