Production United Engines Corporation (a Rostec State Corporation company) in the frames of import substitution program performed successfully the first two steps of tests of the first Russian gas turbine power plant with capacity upwards of 110 mW GTD-110M. For the second semester of 2017 it is planned to perform tests with life cycle turbine blades stage 1, then endurance complex tests, and in 2018 – launching in serial production.
GTD-110М with capacity upwards of 110 mW – single-shaft gas turbine assigned to be used in gas turbine and combined-cycle plants of high power. It is a result of deep retrofit of gas turbine engine GTD-110. As of today, in Russia there is no serial production of home-produced gas turbines with power upwards of 110 mW.
Work on GTD-110М project is being implemented by Gas Turbine Technologies Engineering Center LLC – a joint venture consisting of Inter RAO PJSC, Rosnano JSC and NPO Saturn PJSC, the turbine manufacturer (a part of United Engine Corporation, located in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region). Creation of GTD-110М is a strategic project being implemented in the frames of import substantiation program in the sphere of gas turbine technologies with active support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Rostec State Corporation.
The first two steps of tests of the pilot item GTD-110М done at Stand JSC test bench (Komsomolsk, Ivanovo region) confirmed the efficiency of the implemented high-priority research and development activities of the project. In particular, an evaluation of the implemented activities on reduction of dynamic stresses of blade stage 1 and actions aimed to support of combustion chamber life is done, as well as assessment of the case thermal efficiency. Tests of thermal barrier and wear resistant liners and thermal barrier nanostructured coatings of the turbine blades are done.

According to preliminary estimates the need of only home market in gas turbine engines on the basis of GTD-110М is up to 80 units until 2030”.
At present time NPO Saturn PJSC is working on creation of low-emission combustion chamber (MEKS) for GTD-110М, its design documentation is being developed in accordance with the world trends of ecological standards maintenance. Previously bench tests of MEKS prototype have been done in VTI JSC and in CIAM with low and full parameters, following their results the stated technical characteristics are completely confirmed and NOx emissions do not exceed 50 mg/nm3, СО – 10 mg/nm3.

A significant advantage of GTD-110М in front of its foreign analogues is high efficiency – 36,5% (ISO), which is profitably reflected on the cost of the item life cycle. Besides, unique weight and size characteristics of GTD-110М allow its transportation even to the country outlying regions in full operational compatibility by any kinds of transport, and to perform installation of the turbine during replacement of outdated equipment without reconstruction of the station building. Among the other peculiar features of GTD-110М – good dynamics in growth and power discharge during transient processes, high indices of fuel efficiency, low cost of electrical and thermal energy generation.
