UEC will introduce development trends of Russian engine-building to the guests of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi

United Engine Corporation (a Rostec State Corporation company) will introduce the principal progress trends and projects of Russian engine industry to the participants of the academic program and debate "Aviation of the Future" which is to take place as a part of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi.

The sponsors of "Aviation of the Future" program (held from 16th to 21st of October) are UEC, UAC, Russian Helicopters, Moscow Aviation Institute and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. It is to become a platform for discussion of the global aviation industry's advanced technologies and projects by young specialists and students of specific higher education institutions. One of the tasks of the program is to get talented youth motivated to working in aircraft industry.

Yury Shmotin, UEC Deputy General Director - General Designer, will speak about the principal prospects and tendencies of aircraft engine-building development and will present a report on design methodology for advanced gas-turbine engines. Managers of different divisions in UEC will make their reports and will take part in panel discussions. The topics are the following: aircraft metamaterials, a "green" aircraft, flight safety, modern management techniques, LEAN technologies etc.

The target audience of the program are young leaders aged 18 to 35 (youth personnel pool of corporations, students of specific Russian and foreign higher education institutions). The sponsors have gathered leading Russian and foreign experts of aircraft industry and the educational and scientific community from Russia, France, Germany, Great Britain, South Korea and India at the "Aviation of the Future" platform.

“46 young specialists from UEC are taking part in "Aviation of the Future", - says Julia Karpenko, Head of UEC Corporate University. - We expect that the participation in the program will contribute to engaging young specialists of the holding’s enterprises in processes of solving practical tasks within the key trends of UEC strategy implementation as well as to the selection and promotion of UEC’s youth personnel pool”.

An exhibition area and an area with engine, aircraft and helicopter models will be organized within the framework of the program. UEC is going to present the commercial turbofan engine PD-14 designed for the MS-21-300 airliner as well as the turbojets AL-31F (for the SU-27 aircraft family) and AI-222-25 (for the combat-capable trainer aircraft Yak-130).
