United Engine Corporation (a Rostec State Corporation company) accepted the Quality Management System (QMS) Development Concept defining its main improvement trends until 2025 and ensuring a single approach to the establishment and operation of the QMS of the holding companies.
UEC’s primary strategic goal as related to quality is maximum satisfaction of customers’ requirements and delivery of products meeting the requirements of domestic and international quality standards. The QMS Development Concept is to be implemented in the following five principal domains:
In the “Products” domain the following can be mentioned among the main activities of the QMS Concept: improvements in the corporate system of quality indices management and its flow-down to the level of the companies’ shops and production areas; introduction of information systems for product configuration management in production; organization of project work aimed at improvements in product quality in the companies. Within the framework of the “Processes” domain, utmost importance will be attached to the certification of the corporation’s activity related to the manufacture and maintenance of aeronautical products as required by the Russian and international aviation regulations.
Besides, there are some actions foreseen in order to implement a corporate procedure of managing customers’ claims to the quality of supplied products.
A key role is also assigned to the development of UEC staff’s quality competences. In particular, it is planned to establish an information system in order to manage the staff’s quality competences as well as to implement corporate training programs concerning the quality and certification of production activity.
The Concept is in line with the strategy of Rostec’s aviation cluster. The strategy also implies all-round development of the quality management system.
In July 2017 UEC was successfully certified at the certification centre “Rostec-Sertifikat’ and thus demonstrated the compliance of its quality management system with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2015 and GOST RV 0015-002-2012 as applied to design, manufacture, tests, installation, assembly, maintenance, repair, disposal, and sale of products. A certificate was presented to Sergey Antropov, UEC Quality Director, by Vladlen Shorin, General Director of RT-Techpriemka, during the aviation show MASK-2017.
