February 14, 2018, Rybinsk. – PJSC “UEC-Saturn” (a part of United Engine Corporation (JSC), a Rostec State Corporation company) has summed up the results of 2017 and identified the company’s key performance indicators for 2018.
According to Viktor Polyakov, Deputy General Director – UEC-Saturn Managing Director, “in 2017 UEC-Saturn maintained the trend of output and sales growth. Almost all the key budget targets of 2017 were achieved. In terms of economics the major task of 2017 - to fix the obtained results and to provide conditions for further growth of the output of new serial products – was fulfilled 100 %”.
The production turnout in 2017 reached 34.2 bln rubles. The gain as compared to the level of the previous year was 14.9 %. The sales proceeds in 2017 were at the level of 32.4 bln rubles, the proceeds level reached in 2016 with the US dollar’s fall against the ruble and with due account for a considerable share of exports was kept and equaled 100.4 %.
UEC-Saturn has a balanced backlog of orders. 36% of its composition is Russian domestic deliveries, 64% is export deliveries. The company keeps on developing, producing and maintaining a full range of equipment for commercial aircraft programs as well for marine gas turbine and power generation programs, which allows us to respond to external conditions in a more flexible way and to level market fluctuations.
The sales profit in 2017 amounted to 4.9 bln rubles, the net profit was 236 mln rubles.
According to the results of 2017 the revenue per employee was 2.6 mln rubles, which conforms to the obtained results of 2016 in spite of the pressure exerted by macroeconomic factors on the export component of sales and on job expansion caused by a considerable production increase in 2018 and 2019.
Alongside with the structural changes in proceeds and with the formation of a balanced backlog of orders the obtained financial performance is due to the significant amount of work aimed at enterprise efficiency improvement. Lately the company’s internal processes related to the optimization of its economics and the technical characteristics of its product line have undergone deep reorganization: there are some product divisions established, outsourcing is under development, parts and assembly units are manufactured within centres of industrial competence, program and project management as well as lean production principles is being implemented, the program of production and enterprise management systems digitization is under way. Programs of cost saving, marginal income rise and energy efficiency enhancement are in progress for all the products. In collaboration with our partner VTB Bank we go on reducing the cost of credit resources. In 2017, despite the need to considerably increase the working capital and to continue financing the investment program, the company maintained the trend of decreasing the credit portfolio amount and improving its quality.
In 2017 UEC-Saturn kept on making fixed capital investments, first of all investments in the creation of hi-tech production and testing facilities in order to implement programs and to perform tasks allotted by the government as well as to develop the manufacture of commercial products. The total of over 4.5 bld rubles was allocated by the company to this line of activity in 2017.
In 2018 UEC-Saturn’s production output in accordance with the validated plan is at the level of 38.5 bln rubles, the gain is 12.6 % as compared to 2017. The volume of sales will reach 37.3 bln rubles, the gain will be 15.3 % versus the prior period. The sales volume increase is caused by structural changes in the product range, by the work that is in progress and relates to the formation of a stable medium-term and long-term backlog of orders as well as by the introduction of new products to the market and by offering customers new technological capabilities of the company.
The financial performance indicators of 2018 are expected to be positive with growth to 30 % versus the indicators of 2017.
The 2018 year will be accompanied by an increase in production which is to reach 2.9 mln rubles by the end of the year.
Pursuant to the corporate policy UEC-Saturn is going to continue realizing its social programs in full; there is a plan of wage indexation; fixed capital expenditures will continue.
The overall volume of tax payments to budgets of all levels and of contributions to extrabudgetary funds will be over 3 bln rubles.PJSC "UEC-Saturn" is an engine-manufacturing company specialized in the design and development, production and after-market support of gas turbine engines for military and commercial aviation, power generation and gas compression as well as for ships and vessels.
