As part of Airshow China 2018, United Engine Corporation (a Rostec State Corporation company) presented its vision of commercial aircraft engines market development in China and prospects of Russian power plant systems for civil aviation.
Airshow China 2018 was held from November 6 to November 11 in Zhuhai. UEC representatives made their reports in the course of a conference organized by UAC (PJSC) and devoted to the analysis and forecast of the PRC’s commercial aviation market.
According to UEC estimates, capacity of the Chinese commercial aircraft engines market segment, in which the holding is eager to propose its recent developments, will amount 12 500 power plant systems until 2037. This refers to the engines for regional, medium-range and long-range airliners. The UCS product line in this segment will be presented by Russian-and-French engine SaM146 (its baseline application is Sukhoi Superjet 100), the most recent Russian commercial engine PD-14 (its baseline application is MC-21) and eventually by the PD-35 engine for widebody long-range aircraft.
The holding is intended to progress on the fast rising market of commercial aviation in China in partnership with United Aircraft Corporation, to render it its assistance in promoting the aircraft powered by UEC engines. Specific attention will be paid to the after-sales services development (together with Chinese partners).
UEC is also ready to study a possibility to create engines for advanced civil aviation platforms in cooperation with a Chinese party;
The PD-14 engine was presented at the UEC stand in Zhuhai. PD-14 is a baseline turbofan engine developed in wide cooperation of UEC enterprises for the MC-21 aircraft with application of advanced technologies and materials including composite materials. In terms of ecological properties, the PD-14 leaves behind its foreign analogues currently in service; the engine parameters ensure reduction of specific fuel consumption at Cruise by 10-15%.
