July 29, 2020, Rybinsk. – On July 28, 2020 UEC-Saturn (part of the United Engine Corporation, a Rostec State Corporation company) was visited by representatives of industrial enterprises of Tatarstan and other Russian regions with Sergey Komov, Deputy Director – Chairman of Industrial Development Committee, Investments and Industry Department, Government of the Yaroslavl Region, as the head of the delegation.
The main purpose of Russian industrialists’ visit to the Yaroslavl Region, particularly to UEC-Saturn which is one of the most sizeable enterprises in the region, was to ensure a large-scale geographical spread of activity and to establish a new partner relationship and cooperation in the context of interregional coordination.
When greeting the delegation members, Viktor Polyakov
, Deputy General Director – Managing Director of UEC-Saturn, emphasized: “Today UEC-Saturn PJSC is developing in a dynamic way. In the first half of 2020 we reached the budget targets in all fields despite the force-majeure circumstances attributed to the pandemic outbreak and encountered by the country, the region and every single business. Quite challenging tasks have been assigned to our company and we all are aiming at success in attaining the target values of 2020. The visit paid by representatives of Russian industrial establishments under the auspices of the Investments and Industry Department of the Yaroslavl Region is of interest to our company. UEC-Saturn is specialized in key gas-turbine engine production technologies; it is mainly blade and vane production. In the region as well as in the Russian Federation there are plants able to fabricate some parts at less cost and with lower labour input as compared to UEC-Saturn due to its large size. Therefore, we outsource certain activities not only to small and medium-sized enterprises of the Yaroslavl Region but also to companies of the RF within the framework of interregional cooperation.”“Today the delegation is represented by rather interesting companies which are eager to start cooperating with enterprises of the Yaroslavl Region,”
pointed out Sergey Komov
, Deputy Director – Chairman of Industrial Development Committee, Investments and Industry Department, Government of the Yaroslavl Region. “Following the first half of 2020, the index of industrial production in the Yaroslavl Region is 106.1 %. It is 9.6 % above the mean value in Russia. The Yaroslavl Region ranks 5th in the Central Federal District and 16th in the Russian Federation. At the time of crisis we have managed to keep our strategic companies from standing idle, the economy of the region is progressing well, the implementation of major investment projects is ongoing. Lots of enterprises in the region have demonstrated a positive trend in improvement, our leader UEC-Saturn is among them.”
During the visit, the delegation familiarized themselves with the production capabilities of UEC-Saturn, including a visit to the new investment casting shop – the largest turbine blade production facility in Russia, the centre of additive technologies on the premises of laboratory and manufacturing building No.790, the SaM146 engine assembly shop, the high-tech blade machining facility in shop No.34, the tool production facilities of UEC-Saturn’s subsidiaries – CatIZ JSC and NIR CJSC. In the exhibition hall of UEC-Saturn the members of the delegation were introduced to more than a century of the company’s history embodied in specimens of different types of the enterprise’s products – aircraft engines.
Within the scope of the delegation’s visit to UEC-Saturn there was held a meeting with plant management representatives.
