September 22, 2020, Rybinsk. – UEC-Saturn (a company of United Engine Corporation, Rostec State Corporation) is the winner of the II All-Russian competition "Best HR-Practices in Defense Industry 2020" organized by the Rostec Academy in the nomination "Work with Youth: Vocational Guidance, Adaptation, Involvement, Development, Retention" with the project "Improvement of the Mentoring System at UEC-Saturn". The project leader is Lyudmila Gladskih, head of a project management team for workers training in UEC-Saturn Training Centre.
A mentor is an experienced professional who provides in-service and technical training and is personally responsible for quality of a trainee’s preparation as a future worker. Methodological guidance to the mentoring process is realized by UEC-Saturn Training Centre. Fulfillment of the mentoring process and assignment of a mentor is the responsibility of a subdivision leader."Every year the enterprise employs workers who require training and adaptation in the production subdivisions. , a head of a project management team for workers training in UEC-Saturn Training Centre. Not every mentor has adequate educational and psychological skills as well as in-service training skills. There is a need for the mentors to be trained on specific competences taking into account peculiarities of adult education, to have moral and material interest in transfer of experience. For that matter the project "Mentorship as a Topical HR-technology. Improvement of the Mentoring System at UEC-Saturn" was implemented at the enterprise. The decisions made following it are applicable to all production subdivisions and all worker's professions”.
The current mentoring system was assessed in the course of the project, which made it possible to develop proposals aimed at its efficiency upgrading. In particular, the mentors’ selection criteria and their efficiency assessment criteria, the ways to raise their material and moral interest were updated, the Regulation on mentorship was revised, a mentors’ register was established. UEC-Saturn Training Centre offers training on "Mentor's Psychological and Educational Skills" and "Training within Industry" (TWI) subjects. Supported by the Yaroslavl regional division of the All-Russian industrial association of employers “Russia’s Mechanical Engineers Union”, a contest for the title "The Best Mentor in UEC-Saturn" aimed at increasing the mentors status was first organized in 2020.
In the framework of implementation of strategic initiatives to increase human capacity, the II All-Russian Competition "Best HR-Practices in Defense Industry 2020" and the conference "Defense Industry HR 2020" held on September 17 continued the last-year's successful experience in forming the professional HR community and provided an opportunity to share best practices in HR management among Defense Industry enterprises.
Another UEC-Saturn's project "Raising Efficiency of Blue-Collar Apprentices Training in UEC-Saturn Subdivisions" became a laureate of the competition in the nomination "HR Efficiency and Automation (HR Digitization)".
