The V International Technological Forum "Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing" was opened in Rybinsk

April 16, 2018, Rybinsk. The V International Technological Forum “Innovations. Technologies. Manufacturing” (ITF) was opened on April 16, 2018 in Rybinsk located in the Yaroslavl Region. The Forum is co-organized by the TechNet working group of the National Technological Initiative (including PJSC UEC-Saturn (a part of United Engine Corporation (JSC), a Rostec State Corporation company), the Government of the Yaroslavl Region, the P.A. Soloviev Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University and the Administration of Rybinsk city district. The ITF-2018 key topic is digital knowledge-based economy. The ITF-2018 3-day program included thematic activities dedicated to cross market and cross industrial directions that are fundamental to the "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" program accepted by the RF Government Executive Order on July 27, 2018.

According to the organizers, about 1300 participants from 330 organizations have been registered for ITF-2018. During the first day of the Forum (April, 16) plenary meeting "Development of Digital Economy of Knowledge " was held, sections "Industrial Internet", " Digital Platform of Engine-Building ", " Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning", "Digital twin", "Augmented and virtual reality" and others got started.  Demonstration lecture " Investments into human capital assets under conditions of the new industrial revolution " by P. G. Schedrovitsky, the President of Non-Profit Research Foundation "The Schedrovitsky Institute for Development", the Member of the Board of the Center for Strategic Research "North-West" Foundation, was also a part of the Forum's first day. The second day of the Forum (April, 17) includes more than 20 events for four thematic directions "Digital Factory", "Smart Factory", "Virtual Factory", "Human Factory". During the third day (April, 18) of the Forum, the participants will visit PJSC UEC-Saturn and other industrial enterprises of the Yaroslavl Region.
PJSC UEC-Saturn is an ITF's permanent co-organizer.  Being a high-tech innovation enterprise, PJSC UEC-Saturn seeks to manage knowledge, to master and use advanced technologies at all steps of its products manufacture: additive technologies, new polymer and ceramic composites, super-computer technologies and others. In cooperation with other UEC's enterprises the company is implementing a variety of large-scale projects.  A maritime gas turbine building base was established at PJSC UEC-Saturn's site. The SaM146 power plant system for Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is produced in Rybinsk in collaboration with Safran Aircraft Engines company. PJSC UEC-Saturn is investing heavily in the industrial engine-building direction; the company is taking part in the creation of the PD-14 advanced civil engine for the MC-21 airliner.

"Every spring for nigh on 5 years  more than 1 000 smart specialists, businessmen, research officers and managers of big companies have been discussing development of the advanced manufacturing processes, have been building new partnership links and development plans.   As the co-organizers of the Forum, this year we focused on knowledge-based economy, on what lies at its basis, on directions for the development and who is ready to build with us world class digital enterprises.  I hope, new agreements promoting to define technological development of our country for several upcoming  years will become the results of the Forum," - said Viktor Polyakov, PJSC UEC-Saturn's Deputy General Director-Managing Director, welcoming participants of the Forum at the opening ceremony.

Yuri Shmotin, PJSC UEC-Saturn's Deputy General Director - General Designer, presented a strategy of the corporation technical development in a digital economy at plenary meeting ""Development of Digital Economy of Knowledge ."

"Today, UEC is 92 thousand people, 6 design bureaus, 9 production sites, 4 aircraft repair plants.  UEC enterprises having their own traditions, experience, and knowledge are located from Yeysk to Omsk. The unified communication platform, unified standards of digital data exchange make it possible today to interact efficiently on PD-14, VK-2500, SaM146 projects and others. There is much to be done, - noted Yuri Shmotin. - The UEC's technological strategy implies new technologies creation and their practical implementation in new products as well as in the industrial model transformation.

UEC's objective is to optimize a list of reference HP cores for aircraft, industrial and marine engines on the basis of digital models and to create new production capacities based on smart factory principles, therefore, a test bed is absolutely needed here in Rybinsk at UEC-Saturn and other corporation enterprises to master such models, to create digital twins and improve product support process.  The knowledge-based economy plays an important part in the corporation's digital transformation.  That is why, knowledge management is the most challenging task. It seems to be impossible without digital technologies, industrial Internet and human resources motivation".

For the last three years, ITF has been one of key discussion platforms of the TechNet working group of the National Technological Initiative (NTI).  The Test Bed of the first in Russia "Smart Factory" will be launched in the nearest future in Rybinsk.  It is a joint project of the government of the Yaroslavl Region, Rostec State Corporation and PJSC UEC-Saturn on the implementation of the regional road map aimed at development of the NTI's TechNet direction.  PJSC UEC-Saturn is fully engaged in working group projects and every year the company invites graduates of the Generation S TechNet Federal technological accelerator, held together with RVC and the NTI's TechNet working group, to take part in the Forum.

Oleg Evtushenko, Rostec State Corporation's Executive Director, and Maxim Avdeev, Deputy Chairman of the Yaroslavl Region Government, began their work at ITF-2018 with an excursion of 12 technological start-up projects of this acceleration program 2018.  Before that, guests visited PJSC UEC-Saturn. A meeting of a working group about the cooperation between the Government of the Yaroslavl Region and Rostec State Corporation was held within the framework of the Forum's business program.

"UEC-Saturn is one of Rostec's high-tech enterprises. When visiting the company, I was impressed by manufacturing capabilities, new equipment and Additive Technologies Center that is unique for our country.  And of course, I should make special focus on people; here most of them are young bright-eyed enthusiastic well-informed managers.  I have noticed a huge human potential combined with the experience and youth.  All of this inspires confidence in the fact that Rostec and the country will steadily progress despite existing external constraints", - said Oleg Evtushenko.

The Forum has become a communication platform used for practical mastering and implementation of "through" technologies into production.

"The Forum is absolutely practice-oriented", - noted Maxim Avdeev.  - Here we discuss how production technologies are being developed now, what the future brings to them and what we should do to make the future predictable and stable.   I would like to thank Saturn for establishing the content of the Forum's discussion and bringing to notice its best practice and achievements as an example and subject of debates".

During ITF-2018 three documents aimed at the interaction with young innovators - developers of advanced production solutions were signed. The agreement between PJSC UEC-Saturn and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) allows for participation of Parties in a consortium of the NTI's advanced manufacturing technologies competence center. The agreement between PJSC UEC-Saturn and Technopark of Novosibirsk science campus deals with creation of a regional system of innovation projects development within the framework of advanced manufacturing technologies.  PJSC UEC-Saturn has also signed a collaboration agreement with MSTU STANKIN.
