UEC-Satuns 36th (Summer) Youth Rally has taken place

July 23, 2018, Rybinsk. On July 20 22, 2018 on the playground Poligon in the Myshkin District of the Yaroslavl Region there took place the 36th (Summer) Youth Rally of PJSC UEC-Saturn (part of United Engine Corporation, a Rostec State Corporation company). 17 teams from 10 companies participated in the event. The rally united about 400 people from five Russian cities - Moscow (A. Liulka Design Office a branch of PJSC UEC-UMPO, JSC Gas-Turbine Engineering Research and Production Centre Salut) and Lytrakino (Lytkarinsky Machine-Building Plant - a branch of PJSC UEC-UMPO), Omsk (JSC Omsk Engine Design Bureau) and Perm (JSC UEC-Perm Engines), Yaroslavl (VTB Bank of the Yaroslavl Region) and Rybinsk (PJSC UEC-Saturn, CJSC VolgAero, JSC SatIZ, JSC UEC-Gas Turbines, JSC Rybinsk Instrument Making Plant). VTB Bank (PJSC) traditionally acted as the general sponsor of the rally.

“The rally is always a festive occasion! The young people who have gathered today are the future of our nation. These are people of the most spacious intellect which finds application in domestic aviation engine building, - said Viktor Polyakov, Deputy General Director – UEC-Saturn Managing Director. – I wish the festive occasion to be a success. I wish there were winners but no losers. I wish the three days of the rally to bring new acquaintances and a flood of positive!”

Iliya Goftman, Manager of the Yaroslavl Office of the Voronezh VTB (PJSC) Bank branch: “On behalf of VTB we are happy to greet all the teams. We are proud of our partnership with UEC-Saturn. And we are glad to have our team participating in this rally again. I wish the teams a fair uncompromising struggle, vivid emotions and new acquaintances. Good luck!”

The right to run up the flag of the Rally was granted to Sergey Sysoev, Leader of “Nasledniki” (UEC-Gas Turbines, Rybinsk) – the team that won UEC-Saturn’s previous 35th (Winter) Youth  Rally, and the right to sing Saturn’s anthem – to Alexander Mozgunov, a singer of the Alexandrov Ensemble.

“Singing Saturn’s anthem is a great honour to me. I was born and grew up in Rybinsk, graduated from RGATU, joined the army and – remained in the Alexandrov Ensemble. It is not my first performance for UEC-Saturn. And it is always a pleasure to sing for you,” – Alexander commented on his participation in the Saturn Rally.

The subject of the 36th (Summer) Rally is the centenary of Komsomol. According to the organizers it is close to the activity of the Youth Board, the corporate youth policy, Saturn’s youth movement. The topic of the FIFA Football World Championship 2018 in Russia was also reflected in the Rally program. Even during the “Greeting” the teams introduced themselves in creative form and congratulated Komsomol on the anniversary in the style and traditions of the countries that had participated in the World Championship.

The competitive program is as usual intensive. “Our rallies are challenging: anything but simple sport  content – not everyone will be able to carry out all the tasks of the sports program without trainings, plus four (!) creativity events requiring a lot of homework. You won’t see such a number of creativity tasks at any of the rallies in the Yaroslavl Region or even other places. That is why preparation in town is half the battle for a team during such a rally,” – says Artem Tikhonov, Chief Judge – Head of Social Program Department, UEC-Saturn.

The sports part of the 36th Rally contains more competitions than usual. They are as follows: lasertag according to the Olympic system, if you lose, you must go on playing following new rules on a different ground.  “Beaverball”, “Frisby” and “Rugby” – these are some new games proposed by the organizers from “komsomol childhood”. Water and tourist relay races are also included here. “Footgolf”, “Caterpillar”, tugging catamarans and bananas – what not, generally speaking. And orienting is the first and real sport in the Rally program.

“Electronic records, reading units at checkpoints, chips – we have all the attributes of a real competition like during the Russian Orienteering Championship that recently took place in Demino. The same jury serve our start,”- explains Tatiana Gusseva, Chief Referee of the Rally sports program – Manager of UEC-Saturn’s Sporting and Mass Participation Project.

Aleksei Khokhryakov, team “Motor” (UEC-Perm Engines, Perm): “We liked orienting a lot – such adrenalin! A friendly attitude was felt on the course - all helped each other. Our team is strong, positive. We are waiting for the victory, good impressions from the rally in order to remember it for a long time. And we are sure to come here again!”

“The tourist relay is super! We have 13-15 minutes in which we must pass all the legs. We also must find and count them!  - Nikita Struchev, team “KOvBoi” (UEC-Saturn, Rybinsk). -  Ropeways, dugouts, tyres, tussocks, labyrinths – all devised is really great and interesting”.

“Besides the rich sports part, the organizers made an effort to load the young people with a creative component so as to expose all the sides of their talent,” – says Ekaterina Zaitseva, Chief Judge of the creative program of the Rally – Project Manager, Social Department, UEC-Saturn.

On the opening day of the Rally there was “Greeting” and “Student Theatre of Pop Sketches” on the intriguing topic “What the Plant Chimney Keeps Secret”, plus a pleasant bonus from the company management – a night disco party concert of “Mamulki Band”. Day two – “Russia, Come on!”, a creativity competition in cheerleading style in honour of the Russian football team. Besides fan chants, the teams showed their dancing skills, sportsmanship and acrobatic artistry. On the third day there was a contest of parodies on the rally.

According to the results of the contests the following teams have become the leaders of UEC-Saturn’s 36th (Summer) Youth Rally: “Aerofan” (UEC-Saturn) – the 1st place in the overall standing, the Andrei Savin Memory Cup and the Challenge Sergei Lobastov Memory Cup, “Nasledniki (UEC-Gas Turbines) – the 2nd place and SV-Show (UEC-Saturn) – the 3rd place.
